everyday trina: a quote a day. a year of wisdom.

Some books are written at a desk.

Everyday Trina was written on a couch—with my Bible nearby, my heart open, and the Holy Spirit whispering through every word.

I’ve been walking with Jesus since 7th grade. Under the faithful teaching of my pastor, Rev. W. C. Kenan, I learned the importance of Bible study, prayer, and personal devotion. I remember choosing the library over the lunchroom, just so I could read my Bible in peace. My love for God’s word was nurtured early—and it only grew deeper over the years.

Through revivals, study groups, and a steady stream of good books, I began to grow. I’ve always been a reader—but I began to long not just for knowledge, but for clarity. I remember praying one day, “Father, I know what I believe, and I know what I think, but I want to articulate it with clarity.”

That’s when something shifted.

My sister, Sharon, had long encouraged me to write things down. Journaling became more than an outlet—it became a calling. And during a sacred season of life, while living with Sharon and my Aunt Dottie, I found a rhythm of listening and writing. The couch became my desk. The coffee table, my altar. Their home became the birthplace of Everyday Trina.

Everyday Trina is a 366-day collection of my journey of asking, seeking, and knocking.

I invite every reader to join the journey of discovery - the seasoned thinker, the passionate pursuer of truth, and the first-time explorer.

This book is the fruit of many years—years of learning, listening, reading, reflecting, and simply being with God. It’s also the fruit of being surrounded by the right people at the right time. Ministry from others. Sweet fellowship with Holy Spirit. Love from my family.

Everyday Trina offers 366 original quotes—one for every day of the year. Each quote is a gentle invitation to reflect, think deeper, walk wiser, and worship with words.

Here’s a favorite:

Sow the fruit of your meditation into a journal. Your words are your foundation. Your words reveal God’s provision for your journey.
— Everyday Trina

This quote was inspired by Sharon—and it reminds me of how powerful our words can be when they’re anchored in reflection and faith.
